Pokémon TCG Pocket's rarest card will take you a while to get

Players have discovered that it’s only possible to obtain a specific rare card in Pokémon TCG Pocket by jumping through 150 Pokémon-shaped hoops, but don’t worry free-to-players - it seems this will be more than possible without spending a dime.

Old school Pokémon fans have probably already figured out who this secret rare card is: Trubbish! Just kidding it’s obviously Mew.

In the original Pokémon Red and Blue games, Mew’s Pokédex number is 151. Or at least, it would be if there was technically any legitimate way to obtain it in those games (yeah I know there was some rare giveaway at one point, nerds, don’t go nuclear on me in the Facebook comment section).

The way you obtain Mew in Pokémon TCG Pocket is a call back to this, as you’ll have to hunt down all 150 of the original Red and Blue Pokémon in Pokémon TCG Pocket to find them.

Take a look at the game in action below.

No need to go checking underneath any suspicious-looking vans, as esports.gg’s Brandon Moore has already made a guide detailing exactly how to get your hands on Mew in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

As Moore explains, any variant of one of the 150 original Pokémon will do, so don’t go thinking you have to hunt down all of the special alternate art cards for every single one just to nab Mew.

All you have to do is find any version of each 150 Pokémon, and their corresponding slot in your Pokédex will be filled. Once you’ve filled all 150 slots, the special full-art Mew will instantly be added to your collection.

Mew isn’t the only secret card you can find by completing some undefined missions however, but Moore has also created a guide to help find every single special secret card in the game - such as the The Legendary Flight Continues, The Immersive 4, and the Genetic Apex Museum 2 collections (the latter of which contains Mewtwo).
