Today, we got a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and you know what that means. That’s right, the internet collectively going wild over the newly revealed friends that’ll be joining us on our upcoming adventures.

Although we got introduced to a trio of new Pokémon (along with a bunch of other really cool stuff - take a look at our full roundup here), there’s one that’s quite clearly stood out above the rest, and for good reason. It’s a bread dog. That’s the reason.

Take a look at the brand new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet right here.

Meet Fidough, the Puppy Pokémon. This adorable Fairy-Type Pokémon stands at just a foot tall, and boasts the Own Tempo ability, which prevents it from becoming confused. According to the official website: “Fidough’s moist, smooth skin has elastic qualities and is both firm and soft at the same time. When these Pokémon become excited, they intimidate their opponents by puffing up their bodies to appear bigger.

“Fidough ferments things in its vicinity using the yeast in its breath. Said yeast is useful for cooking, so this Pokémon has been protected by people since long ago.”

Anyway, fans absolutely love this good boy, and who can blame them? Twitter is currently flooded with frenzied reactions: “Bro they made a dog out of BREAD,” wrote @JohnstoneYT. “BREAD DOG GANG RISE UP,” tweeted @SuperBentendo.

Fans will undoubtedly remember a super similar reaction to Scarlet and Violet’s previously revealed golden child - Lechonk. The Normal-Type Hog Pokémon won the hearts of everyone, not only because it’s really dang cute, but also because of its incredible name. Along with Smoliv, and now Fidough joining the ninth generation’s ranks, I think we can all agree that these games are shaping up to have the punniest Pokémon names yet, and I, for one, am loving it.
