Pokémon fans losing their heads over new remakes

I want those Black/White remakes just as much as the rest of you, but is there actually a chance they'll appear?

Pokémon fans are certain the freshly announced Pokémon Presents livestream will feature news on new remakes, but are they right? And if so, which generation of Pokémon games is getting the remake treatment?

Alright, a little bit of context for this one first.

A new Pokémon Presents livestream is set to drop on 22 July, as revealed on the official Pokémon website.

If you’ve never watched a Pokémon Presents livestream before, it’s a pretty self-explanatory event. You may be surprised to learn that there will be Pokémon news and announcements. Shocking stuff, I’m sure.

So, what could the livestream have to show off? Pokémon Black/White remakes of course (according to all the wishful thinkers over on a post announcing the livestream by the official Pokémon Twitter account).

“They’re announcing BW Remake, more Legends Z-A Information, teasing Gen 10 games, and big rework coming to Pokémon Sleep, trust me bro,” commented user @Farethiak.

“BW remakes or my first child gets it,” replied user @lunar_v2.

Well that’s great and all folks, but I highly bloody doubt it.

For starters, we’ve already had an official tease about the contents of the Pokémon Presents from the official Japanese Pokémon Twitter account featuring Pikachu in front of some speakers (as spotted by Eurogamer's Connor Makar).

I may be misremembering things somewhat due to old age, but I’m pretty sure Pikachu didn’t blast some tunes at any point during Pokémon Black/White.

Also, Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s release on the Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t that far away, so that’ll probably eat up a chunk of the livestream.

Plus, there will definitely be a segment or two dedicated to the likes of Pokémon Go and Pokémon TCG Pocket. Oh and, speaking of the Pokémon TCG, there will probably be some news about the upcoming Pokémon Mega Evolution set.

Does that leave enough time in the livestream for a Pokémon Black/White remake announcement? Hey, I doubt it– but I’d love to be proven wrong.
