PlayStation Plus subscribers have one last chance to download and play one much-loved horror game before Halloween.

With October fast approaching, now is the perfect time to get your hands on a horror game and buckle up for the darker months. Luckily, one such game is currently available for PlayStation Plus members but make sure to grab it quickly before it leaves the PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium libraries on 17 October. Leaving the service alongside such games as Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered and Yakuza 5 Remastered is Supermassive Games’ The Quarry.

Released in 2022, the interactive horror game follows the story of nine teenage counsellors who find themselves up against supernatural creatures and violent locals at summer camp. From the developers of Until Dawn, The Quarry currently sits at a Very Positive rating on Steam with over 6,000 reviews. The official synopsis reads -

"As the sun sets on the last day of summer camp, the teenage counselors of Hackett's Quarry throw a party to celebrate. No kids. No adults. No rules. Things quickly take a turn for the worse. Hunted by blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister, the teens' party plans unravel into an unpredictable night of horror. Friendly banter and flirtations give way to life-or-death decisions, as relationships build or break under the strain of unimaginable choices. Play as each of the nine camp counselors in a thrilling cinematic tale, where every decision shapes your unique story from a tangled web of possibilities. Any character can be the star of the show-or die before daylight comes. How will your story unfold?"

For those who wish to grab a few more horror games before they disappear on 17 October, PS Plus also includes INSIDE and LIMBO, two puzzle-platformer games by Playdead.
