PlayStation Plus Subscribers Praise March's Free Bonus Game

PS Plus subscribers are so used to being let down, that this feels like a major win.

PlayStation Plus and its monthly allowance of ‘free’ games can be a much maligned mistress sometimes. On the one hand, subscribers are literally getting free games to play every month. On the other hand… they’re not always the most warmly received titles.

Indeed, it feels like more often than not, Sony’s little gifts to gamers have been met with disdain rather than gratitude. People do love to moan. However, the recently announced bonus free game for March has left a rather pleasant taste in the mouths of gamer folk for once, and they’ve been making sure that PlayStation know it.

Speaking of PlayStation Plus, did you remember that such a thing as PS Plus Video Pass exists? Because I sure did. Remind yourself of it below like I had to.

So first off, what are the free games for PS Plus subscribers in for March 2022? Well, we’ll be getting Ark: Survival Evolved, Team Sonic Racing and Ghostrunner. I know what you’re thinking, “yeah not bad, not bad I guess… but I am quite whelmed.” Fair enough I say to you, but there’s one more little treat in store. Sony also announced that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be made available as a bonus game this month. Wahey!

GoT: Legends is the multiplayer aspect of, you guessed it, Ghost of Tsushima that has up to four brave samurai facing down powerful enemies from Japanese mythology. Previously, it has only been available to owners of the base game, but it doesn’t look like you’ll need that in order to nab this extra freebie.

Naturally, all this generosity has been roundly welcomed. Gamers on the PS5 subreddit have been positively explosive with euphoria for the announcement. User Class6ix enthuses, “I say keep the content coming! I just realized they added a platinum difficulty for survival mode.” This sentiment is backed up by TangyBoy_ who says it’s “literally the best lineup in nearly a year, at least for me.” Big words.

Another user, SpookyBread1 notes that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends being included in the March roundup is hardly surprising, given that “there is a mid-march update coming to Legends according to a community manager at [developer] Sucker Punch.” Sounds like Sony are very keen for people to be playing the game when this update drops, so who knows, it might be a big one.
