Horizon Forbidden West is finally available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and the overwhelming consensus is that developer Guerrilla Games has crafted a stunning, essential sequel.

Our very own Dean Abdou gave the follow-up to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn a respectable 8/10 in the GAMINGbible review, calling it "a clear step up from the first game" that merges a gorgeous open world with tons of new content and an engaging story.

There's a similar sentiment across the web. At the time of writing, Horizon Forbidden West boasts an 88 on Metacritic - an excellent score for another great PlayStation adventure.

Unfortunately, it seems a number of disgruntled fans are flocking to Metacritic to hit the game with some rather unfair scores of 1 and 0. While these negative user reviews have yet to make much of a dent (the game currently has a user score of 8 based on over 3,700 "mostly favourable" reviews), the negative scores are starting to tick up.

Going through them, it quickly becomes clear that the vast majority seem to be slapping low scores on the game out of anger and frustration more than anything else. Because people on the internet are incapable of doing anything other than violently veering between extremes.

Most of the reviews call out some of the bugs in the game (which undeniably exist), while others bemoan the fact that Forbidden West doesn't look exactly as it did in the reveal trailer. Others have taken issue with the game's open world, story, and characters, but very few of them appear to justify giving a 0/10.

Does a game having a few flaws mean it should automatically be score nothing? I'd have thought not, but I guess some people feel differently.
