PlayStation drops a bunch of new freebies, no PS Plus required

PlayStation owners can currently grab six new freebies - and you don't need a PlayStation Plus subscription.

It’s always a jolly occasion when PlayStation drops a freebie - especially when that freebie doesn’t involve PlayStation Plus. That being said, if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can now get your hands on Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Divine Knockout: Founder’s Edition - which really feels like five games seeing as Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes the entirety of the mainline trilogy.

In fact, we’re expecting more PlayStation Plus news this week as we should soon find out what extra and premium subscribers are due to receive. Let’s shift away from PlayStation Plus though because today, I bring you a bunch of freebies that absolutely anyone can grab.

PlayStation’s God Of War Ragnarök swept up at The Game Awards last week. Check out the game’s opening boss fight below.

As reported by ComicBook, PlayStation Demo Fest 2022 is currently underway, which is exactly what it sounds like. Players can check out a bunch of demos for games that are currently in development and there’s one clear standout. You can now try out Luminous Productions’ upcoming title Forspoken (PS5) which is set to release on 23 January, 2023. Forspoken previously got a bad rep thanks to some questionable trailer dialogue, but at least we can now really judge the game by what matters: its gameplay.

That’s not all. Demos for story-driven adventure Thirsty Suitors (PS4, PS5), bicycle road trip title Season: A Letter to the Future (PS4, PS5), the Nordic fable-inspired Bramble: The Mountain King (PS5), and unique racer You Suck At Parking (PS5) are also available. Season’s demo is only available until the end of play today, 12 December, so you don’t have long with that one. The rest should remain playable for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, Thirsty Suitors is only available in North America.

I have one more freebie up my sleeve, although this one is perhaps less exciting. You can now grab a free emote pack for Sackboy: A Big Adventure over on the PlayStation Store. The freebie was spotted by Twitter user Wario64 and includes six emotes. What are you waiting for? Go, go, go.
