The PlayStation 5 Pro has not yet been officially unveiled but a recent discovery has found news about it hidden in a place you would least expect.

If you didn’t already know, the PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to be a mid-generation refresh for the PlayStation 5.

Check out the update trailer for No Man's Sky below!

Set to arrive after the PS5 and before the next-gen console (let’s call it the PS6), the PlayStation 5 Pro will reportedly be slightly more powerful than its precursor with boosted performance.

However, as an iteration of the current PS5 rather than a whole new generation of consoles, there might be nothing more than a slight visual redesign so don’t expect too much.

That being said, with the PS5 Pro reportedly “100% in development”, it may only be a matter of time before we can see this mid-generation refresh.

Until then, references to the PS5 Pro upgrade were recently discovered in files for No Man’s Sky of all places.

Found by dataminers during the recent No Man’s Sky update, the patch notes reference graphic presets for “Trinity” which was previously leaked as the codename for the PS5 Pro.

“#NoMansSkySpoilers Graphics Preset Options for "Trinity", the apparent internal codename for the PS5 Pro. Standard PS5 Graphics Preset for comparison,” the leaker wrote on Twitter alongside screenshots of the datamined files.

As you can see, there isn’t much difference between the graphics on the standard PS5 and the Pro but considering No Man’s Sky isn’t the most graphically enhanced game, this is perhaps unsurprising.

Additionally, with no confirmation from either Sony or Hello Games, it is worth taking this leak with a pinch of salt.

Regardless, it is exciting to hear that much-loved games could be getting ready for the PS5 Pro’s release. Let us hope we don’t have to wait much longer!
