The PC handheld scene is expanding all of the time, with several major manufacturers competing to dominate in these gold rush-like early days. The Steam Deck was the first, and still one of the best, allowing players to enjoy much of their Steam library on the go.
Now, Xbox is set to enter the game in a big way in October with the ROG Xbox Aĺly. That console is more centred on Game Pass and existing purchases on the platform, with those catalogues making up the bulk of what you'll be able to play.
That console also comes with a brand new UI design that actually looks pretty impressive on the whole, and it seems we're not the only ones to think so.
The team behind the new console has been saying that this custom user interface will start to appear in consoles outside of the ROG Xbox Ally, and it seems we have our first confirmation of where that's going to start.

As first reported by Pure Xbox, a spokesperson for the new Lenovo Legion Go 2 has confirmed that it will also feature in that system when it releases soon. That console is shaping up to be the most powerful PC handheld in history, with the Z2 Extreme version almost certainly able to beat out every other manufacturer in performance tests, based on the parts under the hood.
As part of the preview for that upcoming console, we also got a decent look at what the UI has to offer, and it's fair to say it's pretty clean and well put together. With separated sections for PC exclusive games, cloud gaming and Game Pass, it's a neat way of organising a very broad offering.
Whilst it will likely still face stiff competition from the likes of Steam going forward, it's difficult to see how any other manufacturer will be able to keep up with the ROG Xbox Ally or Legion Go 2 in terms of performance once they hit the market.
