Xbox gamers in love with surprise freebie: 'it looks dope'

Hot and fresh out of the gates of hell

Yesterday finally saw the official reveal, and launch, of Bethesda’s worst kept secret, as they took to YouTube and Twitch to unveil The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

After weeks of rumours, speculation, then accidental reveals via Xbox’s own websites and services, the game is finally here, but it came with a lovely little treat for Xbox players.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has come a long way since the Xbox 360 era

Accompanying the release of the game, Xbox is giving away a premium dynamic theme for the Xbox console, which displays key artwork from the game’s cover, along with sparking fires that crackle subtly.

If you want a look of it in motion, it’s all over social media, where players are celebrating the launch.

It’s always nice to be able to showcase your favourite games by transforming your console’s homepage, and it’s something that isn’t taken advantage of enough.

If you want to access it for yourself, and display your love for The Elder Scrolls, just follow this simple path on your Xbox; settings > general > personalization > my background > dynamic themes.

So it’s wonderful to see this as a little extra for those fans.

Speaking of fans, Redditors are calling this “awesome” and “dope,” with many of them rushing to their consoles to download it.

“They’ve been doing a good job releasing some nice dynamic backgrounds as of late. I’m really happy with this one,” said nappingOOD.

“I’ll keep this for a long time,” exclaimed Exa2552.

Over on BlueSky, users are happy to see this new theme, with one saying, “That’s amazing!”

Another fan comments, “I love this art.”

It’s a hit then, much like the game itself, which is commanding a wealth of conversation and shout-outs across social media and message boards, bringing back a beloved game with a modern sheen.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox, with it being supported on Xbox Game Pass.
