Microsoft has quietly released a new Xbox system update this week that has baffled some fans, to say the least.
Whether we play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo, console system updates are vital for a variety of reasons. Not only will they add new features from time to time, but they will also be deployed to make quality-of-life improvements as well as bug fixes.
No question, some system updates are more important than others, but sometimes, it can be the most subtle updates that make our gaming sessions a little less hassle, such as this recently deployed Xbox update.

“Yesterday's Xbox update added better options for getting rid of the pop-ups when you just want to start a game,” shared Redditor Gaza1121.
An image in the post details a hub which provides all sorts of information on a game that you’re playing, such as playtime stats, achievements and more.

“Am I the only person who has never had a hub? I press A and my game/app launches,” asked comik300, to which KesMoney replied, “Then you don't have the latest system update.”
“I'm struggling to visualise what I'm reading here. I’ve never had anything like this in my five(ish) years with Xbox Series X,” said FlyersPhilly_28.
“Same here, I have no idea what’s going on,” agreed unrealmemes.
“I like the pop-up, but I get that not everyone loves it. Currently, I have it only enabled for the recents list. It's a nice way to see achievements, playtime and other stuff at a glance, explained BRRGSH.

At the end of the day, sure, it’s not the biggest and most important update that Xbox will ever receive, but at least a few more gamers might be a little less annoyed.
