Xbox gamers are furious over the potential of a major Sony PlayStation acquisition, and they’ve made their feelings known.

Earlier this week, huge gaming news was making the rounds that Sony had set in motion its plans to acquire FromSoftware's parent company, Kadokawa Corporation. Talks are already said to have taken place which could have major implications for some of FromSoftware’s leading properties.

At the time, it was wise to take these reports with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. However, as reported by VGC, Kadokawa Corporation has now confirmed that conversations over a potential acquisition have occurred with Sony.

“There are some articles on the acquisition of Kadokawa Corporation (hereinafter “the Company”) by Sony Group Inc,” began the FromSoftware parent company in a statement.

“However, this information is not announced by the Company. The Company has received an initial letter of intent to acquire the Company’s shares, but no decision has been made at this time. If there are any facts that should be announced in the future, we will make an announcement in a timely and appropriate manner.”

Understandably Xbox gamers are concerned because if Sony successfully acquires Kadokawa Corporation, it could mean that series such as Elden Ering, Armored Core, Dark Souls, and more may potentially become PlayStation exclusives.

“Yeah, we’re going to get screwed from all FromSoftware future entries if this happens,” claimed nicklovin508.

“I can afford a PS5 no problem at all, but that doesn’t mean I wanna throw $500 out the window for a system. I have no interest in it otherwise,” said Illustrious_Penalty2.

“This is about the only thing that would actually bother me acquisition-wise,” replied xCeePee.

There’s still a long way to go and Sony’s attempts to acquire Kadokawa Corporation could prove to be unsuccessful. I suppose that all depends on how much money Sony throws its way.

Even if it does happen, it doesn't automatically mean that Elden Ring 2 and so forth will be PlayStation exclusives and I certainly hope that will not be the case.
