Xbox players are already tired of the next-gen console, despite it not actually being announced.
In a report by TweakTown, it's claimed that the next-gen Xbox will boast "dedicated onboard AI accelerators, potentially NPU (Neural Processing Unit) co-processors that work alongside a highly-customised SoC," as well as "an ARM64 CPU instead of an x64 CPU".
The console doesn’t really need to be announced yet though as despite all of that technical jargon, the general consensus is that the next console generation will likely yield very little in the way of actual tangible improvements; GTA VI already looks so damn good despite running on a base PlayStation 5 console.

GTA VI received its second trailer yesterday, as I’m sure you all noticed, and that’s right - the whole thing was captured on the base PS5.
It's why many are frustrated to learn more and more about future consoles from PlayStation and Xbox.
“Just let me enjoy my Series X man, I couldn’t care less about the next Xbox cyclops andromeda X,” said one fan on Reddit about new-gen hardware.

Others dove a bit deeper, adding that even the rumoured features of the next Xbox really aren’t that exciting.
One said, “There are games announced at the launch of Series X that probably won't be out before 2026. Hardware development is fine but software needs to catch up.”
Another argued that “graphics advancement is fine, but we're already at a good point. I want to see more work done on AI behaviour, destruction physics, density and more than graphics.”
Others added that advanced hardware means nothing if the games themselves aren’t taking advantage of it, saying, “I’d rather developers not release poorly optimised games. Giving them better hardware will only make them worse at it and it is even more of an afterthought.”

Unfortunately, that’s not how hardware manufacturers like Microsoft and Sony operate, as every time a new console is released, work likely starts immediately on revisions and the next big thing.
With how many Xbox games are going third-party as well, it makes you wonder who’ll actually buy an Xbox when the new model comes out.
