Xbox shadow dropped a banger RPG onto Series X/S consoles but gamers are sleeping it. There’s still time to turn things around though.

There’s been a distinct shift in attitude towards Xbox over the past year, so much so that there’s seemingly less excitement than ever for new games released across the brand.

I suppose a lot of that has to do with the decision to raise the price of Game Pass, prompting subscribers to cancel their subscriptions en masse. That means picking up games full price as an alternative.

If you do have some disposable income to hand though, please don’t sleep on one of Xbox's latest additions, Dave The Diver.

Released in 2023, Dave The Diver is an underrated gem that deserves more recognition. It’s described as a “casual, singleplayer adventure RPG” where players embark on deep-sea exploration expeditions to catch rare and exotic fish.

During the evening Dave takes those fish back to his sushi restaurant and cooks up some delicious meals for his diners.

That’s not all though as there are a few mysteries to solve along the way, regarding a mysterious Blue Hole found in the depths.

The game was a success on PlayStation 5 and has seen some wacky crossovers through post-launch DLC, including one that summons Godzilla to the bay, and Dave crossing paths with characters from the Yakuza series…

It’s been waiting for an Xbox release and recently it got one, with the game shadow dropped onto Series X/S consoles.

Unfortunately for Dave though, no one seems to want to go to his sushi restaurant.

True Achievements recently placed the game as the 421st most popular title on the console, a devastating fate for such a fantastic game.

While we don’t know the exact reason as to why Dave’s dishes are dying in the window, it probably has something to do with how many other bangers games are on sale in the lead up to The Game Awards and Christmas.

You’ve got Game Of The Year nominees like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Hollow Knight: Silksong, in addition to other shadow dropped titles like The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered.

There’s been a lot of competition, so please don’t take the TrueAchievements ranking as a sign the game is sub-par, as that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Dave The Diver is one of the best games you’ll play this year if you haven’t already, and it’s available now on Xbox.
