It’s about time; it’s been unveiled that Xbox is finally set to receive one of 2023’s very best games.

The latest Xbox Partner Preview is underway, and one of the announcements that’s brought a smile to my face is the fact that an Xbox port of Dave The Diver has finally been confirmed.

Developed by Mintrocket, Dave The Diver is an action-adventure that sees players dive for fish by day and run a sushi restaurant by night.

It’s extremely fun and unlike anything else I’ve played. I’d say it’s one of those titles you just need to try; you’ll soon get hooked.

It is a BAFTA winner, after all, taking home the accolade for ‘Game Design’ at the 20th BAFTA Games Awards.

Dave The Diver was nominated for ‘Best Independent Game’ at 2023’s The Game Awards too, but lost out to Sea of Stars in what was a very strong year.

Xbox users will finally get to see what all of the fuss is about as Dave The Diver is heading to Xbox One and Series X/S consoles today!

“For Dave, Xbox is the final frontier, and we’re thrilled to welcome Xbox Series players into the adventure today,” said Jaeho Hwang, director of the game in a press release.

“Fans around the world have embraced Dave and his wonderfully chaotic crew, and we can’t wait for a whole new community to dive not only into the base game, but the three DLCs that have helped shape the game world into one that keeps fans coming back.”

That’s right. You’ll also get to enjoy the Dredge, Godzilla, and Ichiban’s Holiday DLC packs.

The Dredge DLC adds an ominous red fog, allowing Dave to catch all kinds of lovecraftian monstrosities.

In the Godzilla DLC, Dave will have to fend off the legendary kaiju whilst diving.

Thankfully, Ichiban’s Holiday is far more low-stakes, adding Yakuza’s Ichiban Kasuga alongside new missions and minigames, including karaoke.

The Into The Jungle DLC surfaces again

Mintrocket also used the showcase as an opportunity to provide a fresh look at an upcoming DLC, Into The Jungle, which will launch across all platforms.

This is the largest expansion to date, and it’ll add a brand new story to Dave The Diver.

The expansion brings him “out of the Blue Hole and onto dry land with a new jungle biome and freshwater environments”, all of which are teeming with new fish, ingredients, friends, and foes.

It includes new storylines, new mini-games, and new recipes.

You’ll be able to get your hands on that one in early 2026.

A Retail Edition Is Also on the Way

That’s not all, as it’s also been confirmed that a physical retail edition of Dave The Diver will soon be launching for collectors, but only for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 users.

This will include the game and Into The Jungle DLC, and will land in 2026.

It’s such a delight to continue to see Dave The Diver thrive, and I’m so thrilled this gem is about to find a new audience on Xbox. Don’t sleep on this one.
