Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best games of 2023 and some will say that it’s one of the best video games of all time, which is why Xbox gamers were excited when it finally arrived on the green brand.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive RPG inspired by the world of Dungeons and Dragons in which expression and variety are encouraged for the player. It’s also a loveable and goofy game, but don't be fooled, because it’s also very mature at times, especially when it comes to gore and the raunchier side of human (or bear) nature.

Developed by Larian Studios, Baldur’s Gate 3 was first released as early access for PC in October 2020, before arriving in its full form in late 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This fantasy RPG went on to win a plethora of awards such as the top gong at The Game Awards 2023.

With such an exciting and fulfilling game like Baldur’s Gate 3, gamers will naturally want to share their favourite moments with friends and others on social media. After all, being able to quickly capture clips on consoles and share them instantly online is one of the perks of modern gaming. However, it seems that not everyone is welcoming favourite scenes of Baldur’s Gate 3 being shared with others, especially when it comes to Xbox.

Earlier this month, reports were making the rounds that Xbox gamers were receiving bans for sharing raunchy clips of Baldur’s Gate 3. It should come as no surprise that Xbox might not want sex scenes being shared on its platform, despite giving gamers that option. It’s also worth keeping in mind that depending on your settings, captured gameplay can be instantly uploaded to the cloud, which may result in content being shared globally by accident. So it might be worth checking your settings to make uploads manual when playing games such as Baldur’s Gate 3.

While it was quite obvious that Xbox was banning players for uploading raunchy scenes from Baldur’s Gate 3, the green brand has now officially confirmed and clarified the reasons for such bans as confirmed in a tweet by Xbox Support.

“To provide clarity on Baldur's Gate 3 mature content enforcement actions, Xbox account suspensions are not automatic. Each clip is reviewed by a moderator and, if found in violation of our safety and content policies, actioned accordingly,” it tweeted.

“Our team evaluates appeals and can reverse suspensions if action was taken in error. If this was a first offence, for example, we will remove the suspension and let players know why it happened and how to avoid future issues (e.g. how to turn off auto-upload when sensitive content is being captured).”

So there you have it, if you want to capture content on Xbox or even PlayStation content, you might want to check your settings just to be safe to avoid the risk of receiving an unfortunate ban.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
