It is bad news for Xbox users as a recent discovery hints at the Xbox Game Pass price hike going into effect a lot sooner than we had hoped.
Much like PlayStation Plus, the Xbox Game Pass allows subscribers to access an extensive library of epic titles.
On top of this, additional games are added each month which often includes day-one releases so being a subscriber can often pay off and save users a lot of money throughout the year.

However, despite Microsoft increasing the price of the Xbox Game Pass by 25% back in July 2024, it seems as though yet another price hike is on the horizon.
Price hikes are often implemented by companies to keep on top of inflation and rising operational costs but this does not help the millions of subscribers who have to find ways to cover the ever-rising prices.
Despite rumours of another price hike happening some time this year, it seems as though they are about to come into force a lot earlier than we had hoped.
This news comes courtesy of one user over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours who discovered a new notification type called ‘SubscriptionPriceIncrease’ on the xCloud website.

Allowing users access to various Xbox features ahead of their full launch, this website will be the perfect place to implement the price increase but as you can expect, Xbox users are not impressed.
“Gotta increase the price before the next Call of Duty,” one user wrote.
“It’s inevitable,” another said simply.
It is currently unclear how much the Xbox Game Pass subscription tiers will increase by but it seems as though Microsoft will really have to pull some epic titles out of the bag to justify it.

“Man that Activision deal sure is paying dividends,” another user shared.
“We've had like two price hikes in the last year and I still can't play Shattered Dimensions officially on PC.”
Microsoft has not yet confirmed when the price hike will go live but let us hope the costs do not increase too much.
