Xbox Game Pass users are set to lose two massive RPGs by the end of the month.
Xbox Game Pass is set to get a few more new free games this month, but expiring contracts or other issues means that some games are also set to leave the service at the end of May.
The list of titles leaving Game Pass this month has now been revealed, with subscribers having to say goodbye to two massive RPGs at the end of the month.
The Xbox Game Pass app now shows a list of five games which will be leaving in the next two weeks (via Reddit).

The list includes indie titles like Spray Paint Simulator, Against The Storm, and Crypt Custodian. However, it also includes two RPGs published by Atlus and Sega: Persona 4 Golden and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
Persona 4 Golden was added to Xbox Game Pass in August 2025, while Metaphor: ReFantazio was added in June. So both games will have spent roughly 9–12 months on the service before being removed.
If you’re seeing this news and thinking “I need to get a move on and complete them”, then good luck. Given their sheer size, it might be impossible to complete them from scratch within the two-week window we’ve been given.
These games should leave Microsoft's all-you-can-play service on 31 May.

According to How Long To Beat, a website which uses player data to track how long it’ll take you to beat a game on average, Persona 4 Golden takes around 67 hours to complete the main story.
I’m not kidding, this is just the main story. The average completion times for beating the main story and some side content is 84 hours, and if you strive to complete everything within the game, it’ll take you over 100 hours.
Meanwhile, Metaphor: ReFantazio is roughly the same, with a 65 hour main story completion time average, 88 hours to do that plus some side content, and 108 hours to fully complete it.
Given there are 168 hours in a week, if you’re thinking about starting these from scratch, you’d essentially have to play them non-stop from now to be able to complete them before they expire from Xbox Game Pass.
If you’re already a huge way through the games though, you may not have long left to finish them, making it a much more achievable task if you were to try and finish them before the deadline.
Released in 2012 for the PS Vita, before getting an expanded release for PC in 2020 and current-gen consoles in 2023, Persona 4 Golden is an enhanced version of Persona 4, adding new features and story elements to the game, including a new character, cosmetics, and social links.
Metaphor: ReFantazio was released in 2024, receiving huge acclaim from critics at the time including a Game of the Year nomination at The Game Awards. It ended up selling two million copies by the end of the year.
