PC Users Can Claim Free Xbox Game Pass For A Limited Time, Here's How

Xbox Game Pass has always been a good deal but now it’s better than ever, with Xbox endeavouring to continue adding value to its subscription.

Aside from the price-reduction earlier this year and a new wave of stellar AAA/indie games, one of the latest changes is the introduction of a new tier.

This new, ‘free’ tier of Xbox Game Pass is aimed at PC users rather than console owners, and right now you can snag a subscription to it at no cost whatsoever.

Limited-Time Free Xbox Game Pass Offer Is Too Lucrative To Ignore

The newest tier of Xbox Game Pass is aimed specifically at Discord users, and those who subscribe to Discord Nitro.

Discord Nitro is quite controversial as many PC and console players have roasted the service for locking basic functionality behind a paywall.

Recently, Xbox partnered with Discord to give all Discord Nitro subscribers a free bonus subscription to Xbox Game Pass. You get access to 50 Xbox games and 10 hours of cloud-streaming, all at no additional cost.

Those who don’t want to pay for Discord Nitro, though can get a free subscription to it via The Epic Games Store right now.

There are no strings attached to this. Epic Games is simply offering one month of Discord Nitro for free, and the best part is you don’t have to be a new subscriber. Those who’ve previously subscribed to Discord Nitro will be able to claim the offer as well.

Xbox and Discord

Interested gamers have until 11 June to claim their free subscription, but if you’re not interested in keeping it long-term, be sure to turn off recurring billing in the app settings; otherwise, you’ll be charged one month later.

Those who take advantage of this offer now will also get access to Xbox Game Pass, and the limited benefits it brings.

All in all, it’s not a bad deal, especially if you use Discord regularly anyway. The 50 Xbox games on offer could be better as they’re all older titles. For the newest releases, you’ll be looking at a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which isn’t so bad, as we said before, it got a price cut earlier this year.

The real icing on the cake though would be if your Xbox Game Pass subscription granted free access to Discord Nitro, rather than it being the other way around.

As we alluded to earlier, Discord Nitro is a controversial service because in a vacuum, its offering doesn’t quite justify a monthly subscription. If Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers got access to Nitro as an additional bonus, that deal would be much more appealing.

Who knows what the future holds? All we know is that Epic Games is offering quite a generous deal out of the goodness of its heart, and PC users would be foolish not to take advantage of it.
