Microsoft has unveiled the latest free game additions to Xbox Game Pass, and the line-up includes a former PlayStation 5 console exclusive.
That game is Kojima Productions' acclaimed Death Stranding: Director's Cut which'll be landing on Game Pass Ultimate and Premium on 21 January. That's tomorrow, so you don't have long to wait.
As I'm sure you're aware, Death Stranding was originally a PlayStation 4 exclusive, with a director's cut then landing for PlayStation 5 consoles. Eventually, the lengthy action-adventure title was ported over to Xbox in late 2024.

It’s definitely a love or hate game. It’s difficult to criticise Kojima’s visionary masterpiece, but that doesn’t mean it’s everyone’s cup of tea.
All of the people I know who do like it didn’t exactly reach that point until they were 20 to 30 hours deep, and that makes it a hard sell if you’re on the fence.
Still, if you’re a Game Pass Ultimate or Premium subscriber, you don’t need to pay any extra to give it a whirl.
It’s available via cloud, console, and PC.

Our very own Olly Smith awarded the game a score of eight in our review.
