Xbox fans can bag themselves some free in-store credit via Microsoft Rewards, via a special giveaway.

The Xbox fans will know all about Microsoft Rewards as it’s an excellent way of farming points you can spend on Xbox gift cards.

It’s not as good as it used to be unfortunately as much of it was replaced by the Xbox Rewards Hub, which is decent but not a great replacement when you consider how limiting it can be.

Either way points are points and who doesn’t love being able to redeem a gift card for doing absolutely nothing?

If you want an extra 500 points added to your balance, which could be the difference for a £5 or £10 voucher, listen up as Microsoft has collabed with The Smurfs to make it happen.

That’s right, The Smurfs, in celebration of the new film which was recently released in cinemas across the world.

A new punch card was added to Microsoft Rewards that tasks users with completing five individual tasks each netting 100 points into your balance. There’s also a sweepstake to enter with the prize being a new laptop, so that’s something to consider as well.

The tasks themselves are pretty mundane like sharing a link and watching the trailer for the new film, not exactly riveting stuff but it’s easy enough.

Do all of them and you’ll get a nice 500 point boost to your points balance, which isn’t much but every little helps.

Don’t forget as well that you can earn a fair amount of points through simply using your Xbox console, or your PC connected to your Xbox account.

Playing Xbox Game Pass games, earning achievements and simply logging on for five days in a row can all earn you rewards, even more if you own both an Xbox and a PC, go get those points.
