Xbox is getting ready for the weekend by dropping three free games on console across the weekend.
Free Play Days is a regular event hosted by Microsoft where certain Xbox games will be available for free for a limited time.
It's similar to free weekends on Steam, except that you need an Xbox Game Pass subscription in order to access them.
There's usually also a big discount on the featured games, which is helpful if you want to continue playing after the promotion has ended.

The latest offering of free titles includes a big AAA shooter from last year, as well as an arcade racer and a sports title.
All-in-all, the variety in genre here should mean there's something for everyone. Let's dive into what's available this weekend, shall we?
Optimised for Xbox Series X|S
"Wage all-out war in Battlefield 6 for free as an Xbox Game Pass member. From May 14-17, experience infantry and vehicle combat, class-based squad play, game-changing destruction, and new seasonal content like our biggest map yet. Lock and load, Soldier."

Optimised for Xbox Series X|S, Smart Delivery, Xbox Play Anywhere
"Grab those shades, attach that lure and get ready to reel in a prize catch – Bassmaster Fishing is back for Free Play Days! In Bassmaster Fishing, anglers can relive the thrill of big bass fishing in locations around the USA. Cast out and hone your skills during our Free Play Days – This is your chance to get out on the water with your favorite Pro Anglers and haul in a lunker!"

Optimised for Xbox Series X|S
"Explore the birthplace of drift and dive into Japan’s iconic car culture! JDM: Japanese Drift Master is an homage to Japan, Japanese street racing culture and drift. It’s an open world, story-driven experience, blending Tōuge (mountainous) serpentines, with narrow rural roads and vast highways leading to a modern cityscape."

The free games are available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members to play from Thursday May 14 until Sunday, May 17.
Of the three games, Battlefield 6 appears to be the standout title here.
It's a game I particularly enjoyed last October, where I wrote in my review that "overall, it’s the multiplayer that remains as Battlefield 6’s greatest strength, as it always has for this series. Well-designed maps and strong teamplay features make for interesting online rounds. This bleeds out into other aspects of the game; the gunplay, the weapon customisation, and the destruction mechanics. It’s punchy, direct, and exciting. It all feels carefully tuned to how players have wanted the game to be like since the golden era of the series."
However, sports fans may enjoy Bassmaster Fishing as well. It's a particularly good "switch your brain off" kind of game, great for chilling on your console over the weekend.
Similarly, those who enjoy racing games should find some use of JDM: Japanese Drift Master as well, using their time with the game to perfect the drifts and win all the races.
