Xbox quietly makes it easier for you to claim free store credit

A new change to Microsoft Rewards will let you earn points regardless of where you are in the world, and users are loving it.

For the longest time, if you were travelling and trying to complete your Microsoft Rewards challenges, it wouldn’t let you until you arrived back to wherever you’d come from, but fortunately that’s been fixed.

Star Wars Outlaws comes out in a few weeks. Check out GAMINGbible’s preview for the game below.

It was a weird problem to begin with and it’s taken a while for it to be changed, but better late than never right?

Now when you’re out and about and doing your daily sets for those sweet, sweet Microsoft points you’ll still be able to earn and redeem them as usual.

On a Reddit thread, Microsoft Rewards users came together to praise the company for making the change.

One said, “Microsoft is finally taking a W? Let's go,” and another exclaimed, “Hell yes, absolute Godsend!!!”

Unfortunately the change has arrived a little too late for some users, as one user said, “Of course this happens after I lose my 900-day streak."

One user said it’s “a little too late for me. I live in California. I lost my streak when I went on vacation to Montana in 2019 and changed time zones, but wanted to keep up with my daily Rewards activities. It’s nice that Microsoft finally recognises that people don’t stay in the exact same place their entire lives.”

Nevertheless the feature is here now so that’s the main thing, so you can travel the globe without fear that your precious reward streak will die while you’re gone.

The change should hopefully make it easier to save up points too for those Xbox store credit gift cards.
