Xbox's Biggest Game Finally Coming to PlayStation

One of Xbox’s biggest games is finally coming to PlayStation consoles, if a new rumour is to be believed.

In the past few months, PlayStation users have been able to enjoy a selection of Xbox games that have hit the platform.

Popular titles such as Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have each made their way over to PS5 after a period of exclusivity on Xbox hardware.

It’s also not slowing down either, as Microsoft intends to bring Age of Empires IV to PS5 in November. And it also looks like another Xbox game could be coming to PS5 later this year, too.

According to reliable source Graczdari via PPE, the next Xbox exclusive coming to PS5 will be Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and it’ll arrive “in the coming weeks”.

The full report reads: “We’ve just received information from user Graczdari that lets us reveal which Microsoft exclusive will be the next to land in the hands of PlayStation 5 owners.

“The Redmond corporation is planning to bring Sony fans Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in the coming weeks! According to early reports, the new edition is set to launch later this year - specifically in November.

It’s best to take these rumours with a grain of salt. Nothing has been confirmed yet from Microsoft or Flight Simulator’s studio, Asobo. Age of Empires IV is also due to release on PS5 in November, so Microsoft may not want to have two games released in the same month.

The leak also seems to confirm that the game will be available physically too: “Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be available in physical copies, but as is often the case with Microsoft-published titles, the print run won’t be massive.”

It would make sense for Xbox to bring this game over to PS5 eventually. Microsoft Flight Simulator is popular within its niche, and fans of flight sim games haven’t really been able to get alternatives on PlayStation.

It’s also worth pointing out that the PlayStation Store has a Flight Sim section already, so it could be there in preparation for the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The latest entry to the series is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which was released last year. The game allows players to simulate the experience of flying a plane in realistic environments and weather.

It uses data and cloud streaming to simulate the entire planet, meaning you can fly over your house or hometown if you really wanted to, and the game uses advanced rendering techniques to produce 3D buildings and landscapes that make it a realistic representation of Earth’s features.
