Xbox Adds 4 New Free Games You Can Download And Play Right Now

This looks like the best free games line up they've had in months

Four free titles can be yours to play on Xbox right this second, and would you believe that the lineup actually looks… good?

Another week's end means another weekend, and that means we’ve got another Xbox Free Play Days to contend with.

Now, last week’s Free Play Days event was, honestly, kind of rubbish. I mean, if you've yet to play For Honor, an eight-year-old multiplayer game, there’s probably a good reason for that.

This week, however, is full of bangers, and one of them doesn’t even require you to have an active Xbox Game Pass membership to play it.

The four games up for grabs this weekend are WWE 2K25 Standard Edition, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, I, Robot, and The Ascent.

So, I’ve only actually played one of these, and that’s Dynasty Warriors: Origins. However, I can confirm that it absolutely slaps and is well worth a go.

As a non-wrestling fan, WWE 2K25 isn’t my cup of tea, but GAMINGbible’s own Richard Lee Breslin (who lives and breathes WWE) gave it an 8/10 in his review, which I would say is a pretty solid endorsement.

I, Robot made me think I was going mad for a second, because I thought Microsoft were offering up a port of the 1984 Atari game of the same name.

Turns out, this is a remake of said game that came out this year, which I somehow completely missed. Looks pretty fun honestly, although the visuals seem like they might give you a bit of a headache.

And finally, you’ve got The Ascent, the 2021 twin-stick shooter from Neon Giant and Curve Digital. I’ve been meaning to play this one for ages but just never got around to it, which is handy because this is the title that doesn’t require you to have an Xbox Game Pass.

Everything on this list is available to play until August 3, so you’ve got roughly 48 hours to get stuck in.

Here’s hoping the next Free Play Days event is more like this one, and less like the one from last weekend.
