Xbox has dropped massive free downloads that you can play today for two highly anticipated games.

Playable demos are a precious commodity because they allow us to sample a video game for free before we part with our hard-earned cash, thus drastically reducing the chances of us throwing our money down the proverbial drain.

During last weekend’s Xbox Games Showcase, it was finally announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to Xbox Series X/S later this year, after originally being released on PlayStation in April 2020 before coming to PC.

What’s more, it was also announced that Final Fantasy XVI is coming to Xbox Series X/S, but rather than having to wait several months, the action RPG from Square Enix was available as soon as it was revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase.

In my review of Final Fantasy XVI, I said: “It is truly an epic adventure. It has a fantastical story, over-the-top character performances, a sublime soundtrack, epic boss battles, and it looks gorgeous to boot.”

Not only that, but a playable demo for the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is also available now, albeit with a slight catch.

Unlike the Final Fantasy XVI demo, which is available to everyone for free, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 demo is only available to those who pre-order the digital game or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Hopefully, the playable demo for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available to everyone regardless of whether you’ve pre-ordered the game or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Final Fantasy XVI is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Whereas Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 releases on 11 July 2025 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade does not have a concrete Xbox Series X/S release date at the time of writing, other than later this year.
