A new RPG is winging its way to Xbox after some time over on PC, and it looks to combine the feel of Valheim with the setting of Ghost of Tsushima.

The new Xbox RPG comes from developer, Superkami, and looks to create a survival experience in Feudal Japan, as you strive to stay alive and defend your settlement.

As a follow-up to Medieval Dynasty, we’re now heading to Japan in Sengoku Dynasty, which does very much look like it’s channelling Ghost of Tsushima with its lush environments.

With plenty of base-building options, it’s clear to see some Valheim in here, too.

The premise is pretty great, with players taking on the role of establishing a community and building it up to be a safe place for locals to find success and a happy life.

Of course, it’s not all as simple as that, and bandits will plague you while you’re out searching for materials in what is said to be the “ultimate feudal Japan experience.”

As mentioned, Sengoku Dynasty has already had some time on Steam since its PC release in November 2024, so players are able to give Xbox players an idea of what to expect.

The life of Sengoku Dynasty has seen it garner over 5,000 reviews and land on a ‘Mostly Positive’ rating, so it’s clear that the game has some fans.

If you don’t fancy heading into this one solo, you can play co-op with a few friends and work on managing your crops and villagers together.

While some players note a few issues with the game - some performance problems and multiplayer lag - it will be launching on 21 August at the low price of £19.99/$23.99, with an introductory discount.

If you’re eager to live within that time period in Japan, this might keep you in that dream.
