If you’re a Halo fan, you’re almost definitely going to want to add this latest release to your collection.

Halo has arguably never been stronger than it was during that original trilogy run and while, yes, you can replay Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3 to relive the magic, so too will you soon be able to via the power of music.

Okay, well, technically you can do that already by loading up the trilogy’s various soundtracks online, but what I’m trying to tell you is that the Halo Original Trilogy Soundtrack Vinyl Box Set is now available to pre-order on Amazon.

Composed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori, the soundtracks to the first three Halo games can now be experienced in the ultimate format.

Yes, I think records trump all.

There’s nothing more wonderful than waking up on a Sunday, making a nice cup of tea or coffee and putting on a record as the sunlight streams in through a window whilst you prepare for a low-paced, leisurely day.

The box set is due to launch this coming April, and will feature a whopping 83 tracks across eight LP discs.

ICYMI: Avowed will soon be dropping on Xbox on 18 February.

Each game’s respective soundtrack casing features artwork by former Bungie lead concept artist Isaac Hannaford, with each game also boasting a different LP sleeve colour.

Those LP sleeve colours are green, orange, and blue.

The only downside to this box set is that it would’ve been nice to see the actual LPs colour-coded but they’re unfortunately all black.

The price is perhaps a downside too.

This set will set you back a whopping £169.99, correct at the time of writing, over on Amazon.

That’s not an accessible price point for everyone, but I’m imagining Halo collectors are going to wipe this one off the shelves relatively quickly.

The box set will launch on 4 April here in the UK.
