Xbox Game Pass has just landed a new Game Awards nominated hit, and it comes to the service later today (10 December).

The service is home to hundreds of different games across a variety of genres. These can be recent hits or forgotten classics, so there’s always something for everyone depending on individual tastes.

New games are added on a monthly basis, with Xbox announcing roughly every few weeks what the next games coming to the service will be.

Tomorrow, Xbox Game Pass gets Mortal Kombat 1, which is the latest game in the Mortal Kombat series, serving as a reboot of the entire franchise.

In case you’re unaware, Mortal Kombat 1 resets the timeline of the franchise for the second time. It follows the ending of Mortal Kombat 11’s Aftermath expansion which saw Liu Kang take control over Kronika’s Hourglass, ripping apart the fabric of time, and creating a new continuity.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be playable on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass from 10 December.

It was nominated for two awards at The Game Awards 2023, where it was up for Best Fighting Game and Innovation in Accessibility.

However, it lost in both of those categories to Street Fighter 6 and Forza Motorsport respectively.

Still, the Xbox Series X/S version has a critic score of 84 respectively on Metacritic, indicating that there are largely positive vibes surrounding the title.

Xbox Game Pass has a lot of Games to Play Right Now

Mortal Kombat 1 isn’t the only game in the series available on Game Pass though, as its predecessor Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is also present on the service, giving you a chance to check out both fighters and see which one you prefer.

Similarly, Xbox Game Pass has also had a load of other games added to the service this month, including two Day 1 releases and two others debuting on Xbox for the first time.

Throughout December, you can play Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Monster Train 2, Spray Paint Simulator, 33 Immortals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Routine, A Game About Digging A Hole, Death Howl, Dome Keeper, and Bratz: Rhythm & Style.

And that’s in addition to Mortal Kombat 1, plus whatever else might be added later in the month.

Xbox usually announces Game Pass additions every two weeks, meaning there should be a few more surprises coming later in December.
