Xbox has provided an update on the availability of Grand Theft Auto V on Game Pass.
Back in April last year, Xbox Game Pass added GTA V to its vast library of free games available on the service.
The addition allowed you to play both Story Mode and GTA Online on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Standard (now called Premium).
A year later, it seems that Xbox's deal with Rockstar Games to have GTA V on the service has now expired, as the game will be removed later this month, as revealed by the Xbox app on PC and mobile.

Altogether, it's a fairly standard deal for Xbox Game Pass contracts. Many games are either agreed to be on the service indefinitely, or have a 12-month or 24-month agreement.
Still, if you've been meaning to complete the story mode or finish off some Online content, you've got until 15 April to do so.

It's a move that makes sense for Rockstar. As we move into the summer, the company will be dialling up its marketing for GTA VI, which is expected to release on 19 November, 2026.
It's rumoured that the third trailer for GTA VI will release in the next month or two, so perhaps Rockstar is preparing to have more eyes on the upcoming sequel by removing its predecessor from Game Pass.
The other games that are set to leave Xbox Game Pass this month include Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, Terra Invicta, My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery, and Ashen.
Meanwhile, the service is also set to get a bunch of new games as the month goes on, including Barbie Horse Trails, NBA 2K26, Final Fantasy IV, Hades II, Replaced, Vampire Crawlers, Kiln, Aphelion, and Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will also come to the Premium tier, having previously been available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Altogether, it's quite a decent month if you're a fan of RPGs.
