Fallout 5 leak accidentally confirms new Starfield DLC on the way

I hope it's better than Shattered Space

Fallout 5 has reportedly been “fully greenlit” which may be something that excites you, but I actually think this is pretty dire news for fans.

That tidbit was announced by Microsoft insider Jez Corden over on the Xbox Two Podcast.

Yes, of course, it’s exciting that Fallout 5 is on the way, but many of us have been assuming that to be the case for years.

Naturally, The Elder Scrolls VI remains Bethesda’s key focus, but I always assumed a skeleton crew had spent the last couple of years beavering away on Fallout 5, whether it be in the conceptual or pre-production phase.

The fact that it’s only just been greenlit pretty much signals that development is yet to kick off in any capacity, meaning the game could be even further away than we thought.

While offering this update on Fallout 5, Corden let another secret slip.

He explained that he didn’t know who would be developing Fallout 5, especially as Bethesda was busy with The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield DLC.

That’s right; it sounds as if more Starfield content is on the way!

That’s good news for me given that I’m one of the game’s fans; yes, there are some of us out there.

I must say, I was disappointed by the game’s first DLC, Shattered Space.

It was by no means bad and did in fact include some set pieces, especially in the opening, that I felt outshone any content available in the base game.

It’s almost as if the DLC ran out of ideas though. It later became pretty run of the mill, and I ended up awarding it an eight - less than what I awarded the base game in my full review.

It hasn’t deterred me from wanting to play more though.

Sure, I could return to the base game - I’ve not completed all of its side quests - but there are only so many fetch errands and shootouts one can partake in.

At this point, I’m craving something different, and I’m hoping the next DLC provides that.

Starfield is approaching its 2 year anniversary later this year, so perhaps the rumoured DLC could drop then.

Of course, we’ll update you as soon as any concrete news lands.
