Ahead of its upcoming reveal this Thursday, a leak might suggest that the map of the rebooted Fable will be huge.
Originally released in 2004 and developed by Big Blue Box Studios (before Lionhead Studios handled the sequel), Fable takes place in the fantasy RPG world of Albion, playing as an unlikely hero who is destined to save the world or, depending on your choices, cause nothing but havoc.
As well as having a fantastic story, fun gameplay and multiple choice possibilities, its developers, not only in the original game, but also the Fable sequels that followed, embraced the signature, sarcastic British humour.
Fable Reboot Announced in 2020!
It’s been a long time since we’ve had a game in this series. Not including spin-offs, the last mainline entries were Fable III in 2010 and a 2014 remaster of the original game. So, you can imagine the excitement when the reboot was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020, followed by its long-awaited in-game trailer in June 2023.
We’ve not really seen much else regarding Fable since that time. However, we’re finally getting a fresh look at the game this Thursday during the Xbox Developer Direct.

Ahead of its re-reveal this week, MP1st shared some cool concept images for Fable, which might suggest that the fantasy RPG could have the biggest and most vibrant open-world map in the series to date.

The concept images in question look to reveal the location of Bloodstone, which was first introduced in Fable II. We also see vast landscapes, grimy sewers, dens with giant werewolves, and more.
Of course, we should take most reports with a pinch of salt, but with these Fable concept images reportedly originating from an artist who worked on the game, that probably offers its fair share of validity.

Thankfully, we won’t have long to see how the Fable reboot is coming along, because all will be revealed this Thursday at the aforementioned Xbox Developer Direct at 10am PT/6pm GMT.
When the Fable trailer was first released, a lot of fuss was made about the main character model. So, it will be interesting to see if current developers Playground Games make any changes or, better still, give fans a cool create-a-character feature to play with.
We know that Fable will be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S, but hopefully, a concrete release date will also be announced during the online event. Fingers crossed!
