If you’re a fan of Stardew Valley, Valheim and the anime movie production company, Studio Ghibli, then you’re going to want to check out this free Steam download.

Despite being three entirely different propositions, especially with one being an animated movie production studio, when we hear of a trio combination of those mentioned above, you can bet this Steam freebie will pique our interest.

For starters, Stardew Valley, initially developed by the solo creator, Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, is the flag bearer of a game considered to be an indie darling. Since its inception in 2016, Stardew Valley players have been charmed by its farmlife sim gameplay, lush visuals and delightful NPCs.

A true indie darling

“You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?” reads the synopsis of the game.

Then we have Valheim, one of the most popular survival MMORPGs today, inspired by Norse mythology, as players create their dream forts in its harsh but enticing world, filled with deadly creatures and human players, who will look to slay you just for fun.

Finally, we have Studio Ghibli, a film production company that has not only inspired creators for the last four decades but also inspired generations with its signature form of heartwarming storytelling and gorgeous animations.

So, what is this intriguing Steam game that we can download and play for free? The game in question is Wonderia, developed by Rock&Dash and published by IndieArk.

“Wonderia's an open-world, manga-art adventure just waiting to be explored,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

“It's got sci-fi sim elements, deep dungeons, and you can even morph into alien form! Grab up to seven friends to mine, craft, battle, and level—or farm and fish the day away, if that's more your tempo. There's so much to do!”

Wonderia doesn't have a full release date at the time of writing, but we do know that it will launch sometime in 2026. In the meantime, be sure to add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified of its launch and any updates.

At the time of writing, there is no word as of yet whether the developers or publisher intend to release Wonderia on any other platforms.
