If you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic games, especially the likes of The Last of Us and Fallout, then you might want to check out this upcoming game for free right now on Steam.

There are tons of post-apocalyptic games to play, regardless of whether we game on PC, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo. In fact, there are so many post-apocalyptic offerings that it can feel a bit oversaturated, to say the least.

However, out of the many post-apocalyptic franchises on the market, you can never go much wrong with the likes of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us and Bethesda’s long-running Fallout.

Sure, both The Last of Us and Fallout are two quite different post-apocalyptic propositions, but each offers cruel new interpretations of planet Earth where we must not only scavenge resources to survive, but also fight against humans and horrific mutations.

That being said, we could be waiting a long time for the next games in each respective series to grace us with their presence, namely, The Last of Us Part III and Fallout 5.

Thankfully, this upcoming indie game called Breakfall: Nuclear Winter might help to keep us busy for a little while in the meantime, developed by Dominik Geuer.

“A strategic survival game where you lead a group of survivors through a post-nuclear wasteland after a devastating catastrophe,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

“In this strategic survival game, you fortify your shelter by day and scavenge dangerous ruins for resources by night. Your goal: keep your group alive until help arrives. Every choice matters.”

After watching a gameplay trailer for Breakfall: Nuclear Winter, I’d say that the upcoming game also has vibes of 2014’s This War of Mine from 11 Bit Studios, which isn't a bad comparison, if you ask me.

Yet, as good as a trailer might look, you can't get a better feel for any game than actually playing the game (a revelation, I know). So you might as well check out the demo for Breakfall: Nuclear Winter yourself. Hopefully, it will play as good as it looks.

At the time of writing, there is no full release date for Breakfall: Nuclear Winter, but it is set to enter its early access phase soon, according to its dedicated Steam page.

Finally, be sure to wishlist Breakfall: Nuclear Winter on Steam to not only be notified of its early access launch but also its full release.
