I don't know about you guys, but nothing hits the spot for me quite like a Zelda game.

I love the world. I love the characters. I love the boss battles. But above all, by Ganon's jockstrap, I love those dungeons.

But what to do when there are no new Zelda games on the horizon and you've already replayed every single one a thousand times? You look beyond Nintendo, of course.

Properly decent Zelda-likes are surprisingly few and far between, but there's one semi-recent release that should certainly scratch the itch for you. Indeed, those that have played it seem super into it.

Quest Master is an absolutely gorgeous dungeon maker with very clear Zelda inspirations and some very strong reviews. Better still, it's free to download and try right now on Steam.

"Quest Master is a dungeon maker inspired by the classics that first made us love dungeon crawling," reads the game's synopsis. "Unleash your imagination, alone or in local co-op, to make dungeons full of puzzles, traps and monsters. Upload them for others to explore and challenge yourself with other players’ creations."

Most of the reviews are absolutely glowing. "This game is basically the Zelda Maker that N* never released," raves one fan.

"If you love 2D Zelda games, this is truly an endless experience, just like Mario Maker. The Steam Workshop even allows you to turn your main character into Link himself using community-made mods."

Another writes: "I'm obsessed with this game!"

"This is an amazingly intuitive Zelda style game maker engine. I'm very impressed with it and look forward to future updates," a third writes.

I'll be honest, the idea of endless Zelda sounds absolutely incredible to me. And if there's already a community of players creating cool dungeons to explore, I think I've just found my new obsession.
