
Adding horror to anything is usually a good way to pull in more players, but combining horror aspects with cleaning is a new one.
The premise is simple, imagine something like Powerwash Simulator, but set in a horror film, and you’re on the right track with this free Steam game.
Silent Cleaning is available for free, and it puts you in the role of cleaner as you work your way through a job cleaning a Japanese villa.
Created by the actual cleaning company, Kao, the goal here is to stay alive long enough to get the place clean, despite what’s lurking over your shoulder.

Using cleaning products from the Kao company, this is one of the most original ideas for cross-promotion I’ve ever seen.
Plenty of products from the company will be used to combat the grime and filth throughout this spooky villa.
This isn’t a simple cleaning game, though that seems obvious, but you’ll be tasked with solving mysteries and puzzles along the way. Imagine Resident Evil, but you’re armed with a mop and bucket.
It turns out, while cleaning up the building for an estate agent, you find a hidden code under the grime, and this leads to clues and questions.

Divided into multiple stages, each level comes with a new gimmick to the gameplay, and players will be stalked throughout by a creature that feels pulled straight from Silent Hill.
Only lasting around an hour, this might be the perfect game for you if you’re looking for some bite size fear.
Rated as Mostly Positive from players, and with a very intriguing take on the cleaning concept, this shouldn’t be missed.
Unfortunately, Silent Cleaning is only available in Japanese language, so you’ll have to navigate the game without the narrative if you’re not familiar with the language.
