A new Steam game has had 100% positive reviews, and best of all, it’s totally free.

I think we’ve all been there before, we’ve waited months for a big release and when its time arrives, we part with our hard-earned cash, only for it to be complete pants. Hopefully, this won't be the case with this free Steam game.

The game in question is developed by the indie studio Blast Programming and is published by GIGATANK 3000, and it’s called Legends of Dragaea: Idle Dungeons. Granted, this is a prelude to the full game, but think of it as an extended demo where your save progress carries over.

“Legends of Dragaea: Idle Dungeons Prelude is a first-person dungeon crawler with six unique races, robust combat, a grand saga spanning a continent full of unique dungeons, a classless skill system, and an extensive guild management system to master as you uncover the world of Dragaea,” reads the description of the game on Steam.

At the time of writing, Legends of Dragaea: Idle Dungeons Prelude has eight user reviews on Steam, so there is plenty of time for that to get better or worse. Here’s what some of those Steam users had to say:

“The game's visuals are very well done, and the gameplay pacing and progression work wonderfully hand-in-hand. Gear is easy to shift through and identify what you want, because you will get through a lot of gear,” wrote Chaseowski.

“The game's soundtrack works well with its visuals and style, and I was quite surprised. It's not egregious or intoxicating, and the dungeons vibes are so well done,” they concluded.

“There's plenty of interesting stuff going on mechanically as far as character builds go, and there's some admission that it's fun to let players have tools powerful enough that there can be post-game content,” explained Sunder.

“It's a dungeon RPG, and it's amazing. Well-balanced, interesting visually, plenty to level up and gear to acquire. Please, I need more,” exclaimed Mittens the Maleficent.

“It’s a nice game and a very nice developer,” declared the very blunt dat1996swords.

“Legends of Dragaea: Idle Dungeons Prelude is a title I expected to be just a simple 2D game focused on city building, but it actually offers an incredible experience,” said Hellboy (who may or may not be the iconic Dark Horse Comics character.

The full version of Legends of Dragaea: Idle Dungeons does not have a release date just yet, other than a tentative 2025 release window.

Be sure to add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified of its launch, and in the meantime, you might as well keep busy with its free prelude.
