Steam's free game collection has everything from cosy simulators to hardcore survival games, with a little something for every thrifty or budget-conscious gamer.
It's actually a very common way for smaller and newer developers to put something out that more people will play, even if it is less lucrative than slapping a hefty price tag on it.
One of the newer games to be added to the now illustrious collection of freebies is License to Grill, an online PvP game with a bit of a twist. In the developer's own words you can, "Pick your favourite meat character and cook up to 8 friends using the environment, wacky weapons, or your trusty frying pan in this online 3rd Person Combat PVP game."
So the big (and admittedly quite funny) thing here, is that you get to play as a literal piece of meat. Many of the weapons you'll use to take out your enemies are cooking related, from the humble, yet brutal frying pan, to the pepper shotgun, it's a game that's clearly going for laughs and it does a good job of securing them.

Individual matches include up to eight players and they're a bit of a free for all, with the winner simply decided by who manages to cook the most people.
The game also heavily leans on its two maps to cause a lot of the chaos. Both feature a ton of hazards, from moving conveyor belts to large flaming ovens, all of which can either render you vulnerable to attack or kill you off entirely.
All of the characters are subject to the ragdoll physics that have made so many players laugh over the years. Equally, don't go into this one expecting some kind of hardcore PvP experience, with gameplay much more like you'd expect to see in a party game like Gang Beasts.
The feedback from players so far have been very positive, with descriptions ranging from "absolute cinema" to simply "perfection.

As a free game, we don't have the right to expect too much, and if a game can deliver on the fun, then that's at least half the battle. It also looks like the developer isn't intending to totally abandon it now it's out in the wild, with License to Grill getting it's first 1.0.1 patch just two days after initial release. With no money on the line, there's no reason for you and a few friends not to jump into a meaty PvP encounter.
