If the latest AAA games aren’t your cup of tea though, or if you just fancy a break from all the major releases, Steam Next Fest is exactly what you need for some indie enjoyment.

Steam Next Fest 2024 is happening right now, and will last until next week for anyone wanting to get involved.

For those new to Steam this year who are unfamiliar with Steam Next Fest, it’s an online celebration of all things indie, giving players a glimpse into the future of indie games on the digital storefront.

Users can download demos for all sorts of upcoming games, as well as tune into live streams with the developers and ask questions if they’re interested in learning more.

There are loads of great games for you to try this week, but let’s keep it simple and go over some of the top performers.

The Precinct is a great title to try if you’re a fan of Grand Theft Auto, specifically the old-school Grand Theft Auto games where the camera is much much further back than the modern titles.

In this game you play as the police rather than a criminal, but it has equal levels of vehicular mayhem to enjoy.

Sand is also a cool one, as it’s a multiplayer game where you and your friends build and control a walking tank, looking for supplies and fighting other players in a vast desert.

Last is AI Limit, a game that’s also coming to PlayStation later this year with a demo available now on the PS Store.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, there are loads of great games to try through Steam Next Fest so check out the lists and see what you find.
