Steam free store credit available for next 24 hours

Roll up, roll up

Steam users can be in with a chance of winning a lot of in-store credit to spend on the latest games, but you don’t have long to put your claim in.

Once again this comes from the Free Steam Games Twitter/X account, as it’s brought yet another giveaway featuring a hefty prize for three lucky winners.

Usually the in-store credit on offer in giveaways like this adds up to something like $10 but this time, one winner will receive $50 and two others will receive $20 as runner-up prizes.

Entering the giveaway is, as usual, very simple as you only need to check out and wishlist two Steam games, technically one but split into a demo and the actual game.

These are Sector Unknown and Sector Unknown Prologue, which is apparently a “story-rich, isometric sci-fi RPG set in a shadowy expanse of space” according to its description.

It continues: “Begin on a desolate planet, establish a stronghold, explore space, ally with or dominate local factions, and combat a despotic organization set on ruthlessly exploiting the sector's resources and inhabitants.”

Simply wishlist both the game and its prologue, and then like/retweet the Free Steam Games post and you’ll be in with a chance of winning.

You unfortunately don’t have long to enter, and there’s already quite a few entries in if those likes and retweets are anything to go off. The cut-off point is 28 May, which is tomorrow at the time of writing.

After that, three random winners will be selected and receive their in-store credit - very useful as there are some fantastic games out at the moment to spend them on, like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Doom: The Dark Ages, for example.

If you miss out though, it’s not the end of the world; there are plenty more giveaways where that came from but they’ll likely have less impressive prizes than this one has.
