Steam free RPG download is blowing up, despite mixed reviews

If you're wondering what the reason is, it rhymes with "bits and bass"

Steam’s latest free download is taking the charts by storm, even though the reviewers on the platform aren’t being particularly kind.

So, what’s the deal? If the game is terrible, why are so many people playing it? Well, the women in it have huge boobs.

I’ve been writing about Vindictus: Defying Fate for a while now, including earlier this week in an article that focused on the negative feedback players are throwing its way on Steam.

Vindictus: Defying Fate is a sort of souls-lite online action RPG from developer and publisher NEXON, and a new demo for the game dropped a few days ago. I’ve been excited to try it out for some time now but, uh, maybe not for the other reasons everyone else is.

As of writing, the game is sitting at a "Mixed" score on Steam, with only 46% of the 4,000+ reviews being positive. Most of the reviewers are taking issue with its terrible performance on PC, making reference to constant stutters and crashes.

And yet, it is absolutely flying up the SteamDB charts. Last I checked, it peaked at 40,000+ concurrent players. So why are so many people still playing it, even though it has incredibly terrible performance?

Look, man. I dunno what to tell you. The anime ladies in the game all have huge gazoongas and big booties.

In case you think I’m just diminishing the success of the game down to “hehe gamers are horny”, take a look at every positive review on Steam. It’s literally just a bunch of dudes going “BOOBS!” and salivating at the mouth.

Honestly, I’m really not surprised. Stellar Blade’s PC release is currently Sony’s most popular PC release by quite a large margin, with an all-time peak of roughly 125,000… as of two minutes ago.

I am begging some of you to go outside and talk to women in real life. Actually, scratch that, folks like you should maybe stay away from other humans entirely…
