Steam Drops Free Gift For Hugely Popular Hit Game

One of 2025’s biggest games is offering its players the chance to grab themselves a free gift, and what better way to celebrate the indie title which has taken the world by storm?

Yes, I am talking about PEAK, the co-op climbing game made by the creators behind Another Crab’s Treasure.

Bursting on to the scene back in June, PEAK has managed to break Steam records by offering friends the chance to work together to scale a series of formidable mountains after finding themselves lost on a mysterious island.

Developed over just a couple of months, Aggro Crab’s PEAK went on to achieve success that its team never imagined as it sold over 1 million copies in just a week.

With Breath of the Wild climbing mechanics and a whole lot of tomfoolery to be had, PEAK offered players everything they wanted in a climbing game.

“We really didn't have any idea it would sell this well so we were kind of blindsided,” Galen Drew, art director at Aggro Crab, said in a discussion with Polygon.

“Every day was us frantically checking numbers and losing our minds.”

Since its launch back in June and its subsequent success, PEAK has gone from strength to strength so it is no wonder that its development team wants to offer its player base the chance to celebrate the game in style.

Shared on social media just yesterday, Aggro Crab has revealed a brand-new Discord quest that, once completed, will give you access to a special avatar decoration.

The quest instructions read as follows: "Play PEAK for 15 minutes with your Discord client open to unlock a Bing Bong Avatar Decoration. Keep it with Nitro!"

The avatar up for grabs can be seen here and as mentioned, it will only be available to keep forever if you have a Discord Nitro subscription.
