Steam drops a ton of free downloads you've just 1 week to claim

Steam rewards are changing

Steam users have some new freebies to claim from the Steam Point Shop. You haven’t got long to claim them though, so be quick.

The Steam Points Shop has received a bit of a refresh, and to reward its users for sticking around, it’s giving away three collectables.

Have you played 2024's best game so far yet? No I'm not kidding.

What are those collectables you might ask? Nothing too exciting unfortunately; they’re just two avatar frames and an animated avatar to go with them.

The frames have little animated emoticons popping up around the perimeter, and the avatar itself is a desk and PC set-up with the same emoticons popping out of the monitor.

They're cute, for sure, but nothing extraordinary. The main thing is they’re free, so they’re worth grabbing if you want to make your Steam profile look extra snazzy.

If you want them, just skidaddle on over to the Steam Point Shop where you’ll be able to find all three for free, no strings attached.

Those aren’t the only Steam downloads to get stuck into, of course. There are plenty of games and demos to peruse if you’re looking for something new to play, and with some of the discounts on the go at the moment, some AAA games might as well be free too. They're a steal.

Possibly the biggest piece of Steam news is PlayStation’s blockbuster exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally found a home on PC.

It’s been a long time coming so fans were excited to swing back into New York City, however, it’s all gone horribly wrong.

Turns out the game is very poorly optimised and users with pretty high-end PCs have reported difficulty in getting the game working, and there are loads of glitches affecting other players playthrough's as well.

Not great, but rest-assured the issues will get ironed out with patches over time. Just a shame such a great game got such a rocky PC launch, again.
