As beloved as Stardew Valley is, sometimes you just need to change it up whilst still getting the same vibes and luckily, this free download will do just that.

Since its release back in 2016, Stardew Valley has cemented itself as the best farming simulation game of all time, so it is no surprise that many others since have tried to encapsulate the award-winning formula.

Check out the trailer for Stardew Valley below!

That is definitely the case for Ekoh Beach, a pixel-graphics life sim with RPG elements.

Developed by Zenland Games, players will find themselves on Ekoh Beach after it has been destroyed by a nasty robot rebellion.

With the town in urgent need of help, it will be your job to get the town thriving once more by collecting resources, making friends, and even solving the mystery of the missing quantum scientist Dr. Terra.

“Ekoh 99 has been isolated for years, but a job posting for the mysterious planet’s new town planner brings you to this quaint tropical paradise,” the official synopsis reads.

“Your work is cut out for you. The town has been devastated by an evil Robot Rebellion, and the brilliant quantum scientist: Dr Terra has disappeared!

Fulfil your destiny and rebuild the town, befriend its new citizens, bring the planet back to life, and uncover the lost secrets of Ekoh Beach as you return it to its former glory!”

Using weird and wonderful hyper-quantum resources, you will begin with a few quaint houses but it won’t be long before you create bustling businesses like the inter-Dimensional bakery or MegaBrain Library.

With the ability to customise your character, meet and befriend up to 35 NPCs and even run for mayor, it won’t be long before you make Ekoh Beach better than it was before the robot rebellion.

Ekoh Beach is available to try out for free right now courtesy of Steam and will be released fully on 4 April, 2025.
