It would be fair to consider the 2012 action-adventure game, Sleeping Dogs, to be somewhat of a cult classic. Inspired by Grand Theft Auto, Sleeping Dogs was initially intended to be a member of the True Crime series but was cancelled by Activision in 2011.
However, just six months later, it was picked up by Square Enix and rebranded as Sleeping Dogs, becoming a critical success at launch with a respectable Metacritic score of 80.

Sleeping Dogs takes place in Hong Kong, starring Wei Shen, an undercover cop who has infiltrated the Triads and aims to bring down the criminal syndicate once and for all. It had a compelling story, fun gameplay, and still looks great today.
Sadly for fans of Sleeping Dogs, despite Square Enix intending to release a sequel, it never came to be and was abruptly cancelled in 2013. It’s likely at this point, Sleeping Dogs 2 will never see the light of day.

Thankfully, at least, there is a game that may provide that Sleeping Dogs fix, and it’s an indie title developed and published by Eksil Team. The game in question is called Acts of Blood.
“In the bustling city of Bandung, Hendra's life is torn apart when his family is slain by his father's business rival. Left alone and seeking justice, the college law student finds no help from the corrupt legal system that protects the killers. Discovering a powerful group behind the attack, Hendra decides to take revenge himself, determined to make them pay for their actions,” explains the synopsis on Steam.
Judging by its description and the trailer, Acts of Blood very much sounds like a Sleeping Dogs and Taken (starring Liam Neeson) love child.
At the time of writing, Acts of Blood does not have a release date. In the meantime, you can not only add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified of its launch, but there is also a playable demo available to download right now.
