Steam users have a truly bizarre game to play for free this week, it’s definitely one worth checking out.
As usual Steam users are getting more freebies to enjoy, sometimes full games but other times demos like the one we’re talking about today.
Doom: The Dark Ages comes out this week, and is playable at no additional cost for those with Xbox Game Pass
Without further delay the game is called 9th Dawn Remake, and a free demo is available right now.

The remake’s official description reads: “Enjoy the Free Demo and rediscover the magic of the 9th Dawn series with this complete re-imagining of the original game. Venture into a massive 2.5D open world. Explore dungeons in single-player or co-op, craft weapons, raise pets, play a deck-building card game!”
The screenshots look wild to say the least, and it looks like about fifteen different games have been jammed together to create something truly beautiful, it even has a fishing minigame.
User reviews are Very Positive too, with many praising its gameplay and level of polish, even recommending it’s a good title to play with friends.
If you liked what you played you can get the full game for around a tenner at the time of writing, as it’s currently on sale. Even without a discount though the game is priced at less than £15.

Now if that didn’t feel worth it and you’re after a more substantial freebie Steam probably isn’t the right place to be looking, as for that you’ll want the Epic Games Store, which offers AAA titles free-of-charge every month.
Don’t discredit Steam altogether though, as while it offers more quantity than quality most of the time sometimes there are occasional bangers to speak of, like 9th Dawn Remake which is clearly worth checking out.
