Who doesn't love a good freebie, right? Especially when it basically concerns free money that we can spend as we please.

In the age of a cost-of-living crisis, it’s vital that we save money wherever and whenever we can with free games, even more so when it comes to our beloved hobby of playing video games which can be quite expensive, to say the least.

Check out the Rocket! trailer below.

Playing video games can have a positive impact on our mental health, offering a distraction from our worldly woes like no other, so if we can save you a few quid in the process, it’s always a nice bonus.

As of right now, the Twitter account Free Steam Games is running a competition in which you can win a $50 USD gift card that you can spend as you please on the PC Steam digital store. All you have to do is follow the required Twitter accounts, Wishlist a particular game as well as the usual likes and retweets.

Of course, with this being a competition, it’s not a guarantee that you will win, but there’s no harm in trying. So if you can spare a few seconds, follow the instructions in the tweet found below and hopefully in a few days, you’ll be $50 richer on Steam. Though just a heads up, the competition ends this week on 5 October, so be sure to act fast to avoid missing out.

The game that you’ll need to Wishlist is the ‘Bullet Hell’ indie title from ZeNfa Productions called Rocket! This indie shooter is described as being a “high stakes arcade shooter and score chaser.” Judging by its gameplay trailer on the dedicated Steam page, it looks like fun.

In related news, this month Steam has recently added 44 games that you can download for free to keep, and if that wasn't enough freebie goodness for you, then why not check out these hundreds of free Steam games. Happy days!

Don’t forget, you have until 5 October to enter the competition to be in with a chance of claiming the free $50 Steam gift card. Good luck!
