A brand new Dragon Ball game has just dropped, and the best part is you can play it for free.
I’m not sure how the kids of today feel about Dragon Ball, but back in my day it was one of the coolest things you could be into. Even if you weren’t an anime or manga fan, you’d at least heard of it and might have even seen a few episodes.
There have been loads of different interpretations of the series over the years, including various video games for PC, console, and mobile—and this new one might just be the thing that reels me back in.
Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra is a new game from Ganbarion, the developer of One Piece World Seeker, which brings 4 vs 4 PvP to Akira Toriyama’s world.

It’s available on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, as well as mobile stores such as the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android.
“Enter the world of Dragon Ball by bringing your favorite characters' earth-shaking strength to the battlefield, and join up with your friends and allies to defeat your opponents and dominate the objectives,” reads the game’s official description.
“Grow your strength throughout each round, unlock game-changing attacks and abilities, and obliterate enemy players and bosses alike.”
Some of the characters featured in the game include Goku, Buu, Zamasu, and Trunks, but there are also a lot more from the series that appear as playable characters.

Heroes have one of three roles to fulfil as part of the team; Damage, Tank, and Technical, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Damage has a focus on being aggressive to take down the enemy, while Tank helps players to hold the field and soak up any attacks from the enemy. Finally, Technical acts as a support unit and can boost allies while disrupting enemy attacks.
As of writing, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra has a 75% positive score rating on Steam, but this is only based on 73 reviews so far. Given it’s less than a day old, it makes sense that not everyone has had time to leave a review yet.
“Very good, i like trunks, trunks is so cool, trunks has a sword, that is also very cool, please play so you can be trunks too, I really like trunks,” one review reads.

“Played the beta, and it was pretty fun. I have played a lot of League of Legends, and this is something I feel that I would play instead of that game. Or at least, bouncing between the two quite often. It is something different, but definitely in that moba setting of game,” another review reads.
Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra is available now for free.
