Steam drops 4 more free games, yours to keep forever

But are any of them genuinely worth trying?

Four free games on Steam can be yours right this second, but the obvious question we have to answer every week is… are any of them actually any good?

Thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for, as per usual, collating all of the free games on this list!

Ok, I’m gonna be very frank with you on this one: I think only a couple of these games may actually be worth downloading this time around.

I’m going to save those two until last, but keep in mind that I haven’t actually played any of the games on this list. I’m basing their quality on info I can put together, and the reviews on Steam.

I’d highly suggest you still try any of these out if they look like your cup of tea, so don’t take my opinion as gospel.

Alright, first things first: Cooking with Magic, developed and published by Plexis Games. It's a cute-ish looking "party-based RPG", and I believe the aim of the game is to, as the title implies, cook things.

It looks fine, but there are a couple of issues. Firstly, it’s only in Portuguese. Not the small-indie developer’s fault, but probably going to be a problem for those of you who only speak English. Secondly, however, there’s a lot of AI-generated content in this one. For that alone, I can’t say I endorse it.

Next up, Prime World Classic from developer and publisher Prime World: Classic Team.

This one seems to be a re-release of an older MMO, so I’m sure a lot of folks out there are extremely excited for it. Unfortunately, a lot of the reviews are pretty negative, due to what they describe as “matchmaking issues”. Also, only available in Russian.

Ok, into the good stuff. Collapse Of The Midnight Sun is a metroidvania adventure game from developer Fournelle Sam and publisher fosa.lu.

This one is just a little indie project by the looks of things, but I think it’s cute. No review consensus, so you’ll have to try it out for yourself.

And finally, Heist.exe from the developer and publisher purple_hippo_productions.

This one is an early access stealth and time management puzzle game. Basically you're supposed to plan your routes through heavily guarded facilities and get out without being spotted. Don't let the basic-looking graphics fool you, because the reviews are pretty positive on this one.

And that’s the whole list! See you back here in probably 24 hours for another one of these.
