Steam Drops 3 New Freebies You’ve 48 Hours Left to Grab

Add a bit of flair

Steam has dropped three new freebies available for you to grab, but you don’t have long.

You might not know this, but inside the Steam store there exists another, smaller store where you can spend points on new avatars and profile items.

It’s essentially a way to spend those points you racked up from all the games you’ve bought on Steam over the years, that are just collecting virtual dust in your never-ending backlog.

Right now, three freebies are available on the Steam Points Shop for you to redeem, but you’ll have to be quick, as you only have until Monday to claim them.

Over on the Steam Points Shop, you can currently redeem the Political Portraits animated avatar, the Honorary Holder avatar frame, and the Amplified Action animated sticker.

By redeeming them, you’ll add the items to your account and can feature them on your profile.

These items are part of Steam Political Sim Fest, the latest event to hit the Steam store featuring deals and promotions on games with a political angle to them.

That includes games like Crusader Kings 3, which is currently discounted for 50% off, and Democracy 4, which is available at 70% off.

You can also get games like Yes, Your Grace, Beholder, and King of the Castle for less than a tenner. Not a bad savings if you like these kinds of games.

Steam Political Sim Fest also ends on 15th September, so be sure to pick up any games that are on sale during the event in case you fancy picking them up at a reduced price.

While you’re in the Points Shop, it’s worth having a nosey around for any profile items you want to get with the points on your account. If you’re an active user, it’s likely that you should have some built up. This counts especially if you’re an owner of a Steam Deck, as buying that via Steam rewards users with thousands of points.

Some of the rewards include showcases, which allow you to show off your in-game achievements, favourite screenshots, or inventory items up for trade. You can also redeem profile backgrounds and emojis to use in chat.

In other Steam news, 12 new free games are available on service to claim and add to your account at no extra charge. You can also check out new demos for Digimon Story: Time Transfer and Woven Horizons.
